Artiminds Robotics – our vision

ArtiMinds Robotics develops software solutions to standardize and continuously optimize the workflow for the integration and deployment of industrial robots. Our goal is to simplify the programming and operation of industrial robots and to enable cost-efficient integration and maintenance as well as flexible automation. We consider ourselves not only as software developer, but as a comprehensive service and solution provider who implements, together with its customers, complex robot projects including force control, image processing and PLC communication.

As a pioneer for sensor-based robot applications, we are familiar with the challenges of our customers and encourage them in implementing their applications independently and building up know-how within the company.
We support users in all phases of a robot application, from planning, simulation and programming up to running operation, maintenance and optimization.

With a team of over 50 employees and around 20 international distribution partners, ArtiMinds Robotics serves customers from a wide range of industries worldwide.

Milestones

  • 2023

Finally, industry events are taking place again without any restrictions. ArtiMinds is present at numerous trade fairs and events, which are just as well attended as before the pandemic. With the complete return to normality in the initiation of personal contacts, the acquisition of new customers is also reaching a scale never seen before. As a result, a continuous expansion of the team is now also taking place.
The network of partners with complementary products is also expanding rapidly.
New developments in the areas of “collaborative engineering”, “process analytics” and “AI-based optimisation” are being driven forward together with customers in commercial applications, further broadening the functionalities of the product suite.

  • 2022

The pandemic disappears in the rearview mirror. ArtiMinds is again present at trade fairs, some of which are already properly attended again. On the technical side, “Teach Point Optimisation” goes into continuous operation in a series production for the first time. In the field of AI, various basic developments are advanced and published.

  • 2021

Lockdowns still dominate, which means that the usual industry events do not take place. Nevertheless, ArtiMinds develops new solutions with existing customers and opens up various fields of application.
The dedicated InnoLab is now picking up speed, structuring and bundling the developments in the field of AI.

  • 2020

The year is all about Covid-19. Even under the challenging conditions, ArtiMinds supports various companies from various industries with its software products in bringing new robot applications into series operation. Concepts for online training and remote maintenance are playing a bigger role in the current context.

  • 2019

The office space in the Technologiepark Karlsruhe is again enlarged by additional expansion areas to 1,900 square meters. A dedicated test environment is set up in which ArtiMinds carries out tests and feasibility studies of robot applications for customers on over a dozen robots of various manufacturers.
During the first months of 2019, selected external beta testers are able to test ArtiMinds Learning & Analytics for Robots (LAR) for the first time with real robot applications. After positive feedback, software sales starts regularly from autumn.

  • 2018

The office space in the Technologiepark Karlsruhe is enlarged by two new expansion areas. ArtiMinds now has paying customers in over a dozen industries in 20 countries worldwide. ArtiMinds RPS is deployed in companies of all sizes, whether medium-sized businesses or global companies. At trade fairs such as Automatica in Munich and MOTEK in Stuttgart, ArtiMinds unveils its latest product ArtiMinds Learning & Analytics for Robots (LAR) for the first time. In autumn, ArtiMinds opens its ArtiMinds Academy in Karlsruhe to further improve the training experience and quadruple its training capacity.

  • 2017

The new larger office at Technologiepark Karlsruhe offers sufficient space for a steady growth. After 2016 our CEO Dr. Sven Schmidt-Rohr gets awarded the second year in succession with Capital Magazines “Top 40 below 40“ award, that honours aspiring excecutives and political talents. With the successful participation in the German Accelerator program, the company opens a branch in New York City.

  • 2016

At the beginning of 2016 ArtiMinds moves out from the premises of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The new office in the Technologiepark Karlsruhe provides the framework for the growth of the young company. By winning two national awards (Focus Digital Star Award and StartMeUp Award of the Bilanz Magazine) the company stays in the center of attention at trade shows and exhibitions. With the team growing in numbers and experience, ArtiMinds releases version 1.3 with new and extended features of the Robot Programming Suite.

  • 2015

During the first months of 2015, selected external beta testers receive their copy of ArtiMinds RPS for testing the software with real robot applications. After positive feedback, sales of ArtiMinds Robot Programming Suite starts regularly from summer onwards in several countries.

  • 2013

The founders recognize the commercial potential of intuitive robot programming for complex industrial manipulation tasks. While winning several awards and scholarships, the company ArtiMinds Robotics GmbH is founded in July as a spin-off of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and product development for ArtiMinds RPS starts from scratch.

  • until 2013

The company founders have gathered extensive experience in robot task model generation on different levels of task abstraction from 2002-2013 as undergraduate and graduate researchers in various national and collaborative international research projects at t Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Humanoids and Intelligence Systems Lab. A clear understanding of the obstacles and limitations concerning contemporary robotics technologies led to the exploration of innovative ideas. Numerous research prototypes were developed and tested successfully in real robot applications.
